Matt Grepo

Hobbies: Basketball, music
Globe hopping: Matt's company is sending him to Singapore to be part of a product build
What's next: "Finishing up school and possibly starting a career as a software programmer"

When Matt graduated from high school, he said he wasn’t quite ready for his first "real job" so he got a job at a retail chain. And then came the realization: Matt Grepo "I was becoming an adult and I needed to support myself." Matt was hesitant to "work temp" but he needed to find immediate income. His sister had worked for Kelly and encouraged him to seek them out.

"I chose a temporary job because I am afraid of commitment. It is very intimidating to make decisions on a career when you’re 20 years old."

Kelly introduced him to a position with a leading technology company. His mom had worked for the company years earlier. Matthew decided the technology industry would be challenging but would also offer him something new to learn everyday.

"The diversity could help open my eyes to the world. If I were to do things vice versa I might have gotten a degree that I would most likely not be able to apply in today’s workplace."

With Kelly’s help he quickly found a position as an entry level tester in a large technology firm. That first job opened a whole new world of opportunities to Matt.

"I’m growing with my company. It is nice to finally have stability. Kelly Services seems to be evolving with the changes to the jobs in demand."

Matt found his niche in a rapidly growing industry. Kelly continues to move him forward in the client company, which couldn’t be happier. They are sending him on a business trip to their Singapore production plant as an instrumental member of the software design team.

"It takes a week to build 600 units. I’m going for two weeks. I’m excited to see the manufacturing site. I’m looking forward to seeing the other aspects of building the product."

Matt is now a dedicated Kelly employee. It not only suits his new-found career goals but his lifestyle as well.

"I’m really stressed about the trip but also excited. I never thought I would get an opportunity like this. I have come to the conclusion where if you are able to wake up in the morning and not mind going to work, that must be a bonus."
