Can You Sell Yourself?

There is no one right way to answer job interview questions. There are, however, plenty of wrong ways to answer them. When you are focused on landing the job you really want, you can’t lose sight of the fact that your job interview is a sales call. You are selling yourself to a prospective employer.

Think about what makes someone a good salesperson. The best salespeople are passionate about their products, and they communicate with prospective customers in a manner designed to inspire them to want to own the product. Be passionate about your talents and what you can bring to the table.

Do you believe strongly in your ability to do the job for which you are interviewing? Do you feel that the company will be better than it is today once you are an employee? If so, you need to convey that to the job interviewer. Answer all job interview questions truthfully, and emphasize what you have to offer to the company as an employee. If you are confident and convincing, the interviewer just might get caught up in your enthusiasm and offer you the job.
